Micano Home & Garden Decor Gets a Google 360 Virtual Tour

Micano Home and Garden Decor has been in business since 2003 and is located in the Midtown District of Reno Nevada. If you haven’t been there tour the shop here before you go then head down to Micano and see Sam. You will love the cultural decor, tribal art and reclaimed furniture. Sam works with many local artist’s and a large amount of Micano’s merchandise is local art from #Nevada artist’s.

“If you like rustic, tribal, funky, or organic decor come by check us out. We have lots of unique lamps, wall art, fountains, and more metal art pieces than anyone else in town. 25 percent or so of the art is from right here in Reno.  Shop local, shop Micano’s.” ~Sam Sprague

Sam recently contracted SuePh Photography for a Google 360 Virtual Tour  |  See Inside the interactive tour below

Now that Micano has their Google 360 Virtual Tour this is how their listing comes up on Google Searches. He tells me he had a new customers come down the first day it was published. Want to engage YOUR customers? Call me for a free consultation

September Harvest

image

The first collective harvest of season one. Beets, baby spinach, kale and baby beet greens. It was a late planting but the squash is developing and the pumpkins should be coming around soon. They are in the barrel to the side of the raised bed which was originally intended for compost and fill dirt for the bed. Well I composed my Halloween pumpkins from last fall and to my surprise I now have a lovely pumpkin patch. Cucumbers are taking over the bed and are happy and cool so I am thinning things around them to make room. Next years garden plan is underway and will be giving everything a bit more room with two new raised beds, herb garden, green house and main flower bed for replanting around the yard. Apparently the Marigolds I planted in the raised bed LOVE the chicken manure that was mixed into my own compost soil
+ store bought garden soil. Good combo. The Marigold are giants and so big I need to transplant them elsewhere!  I’m tired of my dirt back yard and more landscaping is in order. Hummmm dreaming of a lush green lawn….maybe next year.

Fall harvest season is upon us….my second favorites season.

Random Things I love, have, want, and or otherwise DIY’d and The Police

Talk, meet, call, engage, network, produce, think… critically think, create, draw, layout, photograph, edit, write, moderate, reply, S T O P.    …Work, meet, call, engage, produce, think… critically think, layout , draw, create, photograph, edit, write, tweet,  moderate, reply, S T O P. Time to reflect……

Enjoy. Happy Summer Soltice to one and all.

Today I stopped and smelled the roses per say. For a second. It’s the longest day of the year and my favorite day outside of Fall and Spring here in the high desert. The garden is growing[first] and my aries persona is beaming, [Thanks to many friends and family that are rooting].   The day is as long as the birds are singing , networks are expanding and a resolve is in sight….s t o p. Someone asked me the other day how it was possible to process all those tweets everyday….I couldn;’t answer yet I do do do,  however in hindsight…the answer is that the brain is big and mostly unused….  Too much food for thought though sometimes. yes. Knowledge is pain. Seek Bliss.

As I sit in my favorite garden chair and write at about 8:45 pm and the sun is still up and feeling that twilight coming on i remember to take the time to reflect. And slowly write. as it taken me 24 hours to finish…

I have gathered a few photos of the moment……. loves, wants, haves, and DIY’s for you to see. [and probably again on Pinterest soon…..or twitter or my gallery site … maybe FB.]   Keep moving but remember to always S  T  O  P. and enjoy.

OOOh…just felt a minute earthquake…..yikes none felt since 2007…..wild! [note to self…must attach earthquake strap to mid century hutch my Dad built.]

Virginia and Truckee

Virginia City | Nevada

Last weekend I hit the road for some recon and location scouting for an upcoming wedding I’m shooting. Virginia City Nevada is an amazing little town in the middle of rolling hills if you like history, old towns rich in character and really old architecture. I get excited about all three. I left Reno in a wind storm as billowing clouds were ramping up over the Sierras and dropping rain in the basin.  I headed up Geiger Grade chasing the sunshine to Virgina City and the wind followed me as rolled into this small mining town. I was happy to have 4 hours of sunshine to explore, meet the caretakers of the Mackay Mansion and drive all over town. I even had time for a short hike with the dog up to the top of town to take in the view and capture the scene. Here’s the day. Take it in and enjoy the remains of the day. Happy.

Here’s  a song to carry you along.

and another…..

…my visual feast.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual

Sky Fire II | c2011

I was happy to see this subject for the weekly photo challenge and now that I finally figured out how to grab the URL for the widget and have placed it in my sidebar I feel official. The Challenge

Sky Fire II: I chose this image because I captured some freakish clouds                       during an experiment in shooting for one year with only my Smart Phone. The black cloud in only part of the scene and white clouds in other parts struck me as absurdly unusual.  The shape and the curves of the image painted themselves right before my camera eye. The settings on the camera allow you to Photoshop per say prior to image capture. I went through all the modes and decided on one particular setting to see what I could get. Depending on the aperture, ISO, white balance and time of day would really change the color and contrast of the subject. The final images are an array of different lighting situations and shooting techniques I used to capture the unknown and deliberate subjects as I was seeing and aspiring to at the moment.

Snow Dogs | 2011

She’s got her 4WD on and loves the back country but wants to be browsing the rags on typography, architecture, design and photography in the corner book and music shop on a Saturday afternoon…then we’d hit O’Leary’s as it’s St Paddy’s Day.

Happy St Patrick’s Day to all.

[…it just started to softly snow…]

Photo of the Moment

Like the Kodak moment of days long gone “Photo of the Moment” is a random posting of photos by ST Photography, AT Adventures and other contributors. Here we will capture the day, a moment that sparks the creativity or something that simply captures our attention. A quick post with a visual feast. It’s like fast food but is good for you.

If you’d like to contribute to Photo of the Moment use the contact page here

Just for fun here is a blog bit on Eastman-Kodak and the end of an era.

Image Info:  This is the first photo of the moment and was taken in the Lake Tahoe area on the way up the north face of Tamarack Ridge by AT Adventures. A couple powder hounds that ski their hometown hills like the back of their hand.
